On
Sunday, December 14th,
2008, Federal Law Enforcement Services,
LLC (FLES) hosted its last Carry
Concealed Weapons Endorsement (CCW)
Training for 2008. The course was held in Kidder, Missouri.
Participants came from as far as Weston, Missouri and Chillicothe,
Missouri.

During Sunday's training, Manlee Lamar, conducted his practical portion of obtaining his Firearm Safety Instructor Certification. Mr. Lamar is pictured here with Mayor Gough and FLES owners John A. Oaks and Larry L. Griffey. The practical portion of the course was held at Julie McDonald's farm, Kidder.

Kidder Kurve provided lunch. While at Kidder Kurve co owner Larry Gough stopped his busy day to take a picture with FLES. "Federal Law Enforcement Services, LLC has had several courses in the Kidder area. Each time they hold a class, we see a increase in sales of gas and grocery's. Mr. Griffy and Mr. Oaks stop in the store several times a month, to get fuel, something to drink, or just to say "hi". They even stop in at night to check on our staff as they close up for the night. Mr. Oaks and Mr. Griffey have helped out the members of the community here in Kidder by offering training at a reasonable price, but also training for free as a contribution to the community. From time to time you can find a flyer hanging up in our store from FLES. FLES had a cell phone drive and took up donation for the Crime Victims Advocate and the women's shelter in October of this year. They asked us if they could place a drop box in our store, which we were glad to have as they brought about domestic violence awareness to our community of 250. With having FLES in town, we notice that those who are non law abiding citizens tend to be less visible, making a safer community in Kidder. We know if we needed anything that John and Larry would help us. If you have any questions, stop in and see us".
Mayor Melissa Gough offered a open letter to FLES which reads
"I would like to express my appreciating
for the amazing job that Larry Griffey and John Oaks are doing in
conjunction with FLES. Mr. Griffey and Mr. Oaks have been
extremely generous in donating their time and resources for the
betterment of the community in the Kidder area. Recently, Mr.
Griffey, and Mr. Oaks taught a women's self defense class that was
remarkably well attended. All the participants we
very eager to learn and left the class feeling better prepared to take
care of themselves in any situation. Many of these women would not
have been able to afford this type of class but Mr. Griffey and Mr. Oaks
volunteered their time in teaching this class for free. I would
like for everyone to take the time to thank these gentlemen whenever
they get the chance as these two men are truly making a difference in
many lives and communities"!
FLES wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. FLES will be scheduling new courses in 2009, in addition FLES is now a Federal Firearm License Dealer and is looking forwarded to bringing a gun show to the Caldwell County area in 2009. Any questions or comments, call us, 816-575-1095.
