John A. Oaks, CFE, CAMS

John

John graduated from Missouri Western Regional Law Enforcement Academy with honors, thereafter becoming a self-defense instructor for new recruits.  John started his Law Enforcement career with Maysville Police Department, Maysville, MO.  From there he joined the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department as a Reserve Deputy/Dispatcher and became part of the K-9 Unit.  John became a full time Road Deputy with Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department, a member of the K-9 Unit and Training Officer. John became a Master Instructor for Midwest Law Enforcement Trainers Association, (MLETA), with Gary Hacker as Director.  John left the Sheriff’s Department and became commissioned as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer and Lead Trainer in Kansas City, MO at the Federal Reserve. During this time frame, John formed Federal Law Enforcement Training Service, (FLETS), providing instruction in firearms and self defense tactics to Police and Security Agencies. 

John accepted the position of Corporate Security Manager with Citizens Bank & Trust, (CB&T), Chillicothe, MO.  While handling his duties at the Bank, John joined former Sheriff of Caldwell County, Wayne Adkison, rebuilding the Braymer Police Department, Braymer, MO, quashing the spiraling crime rate perpetuated upon the good citizens of Braymer.  After three years of service, with final rank as Chief of Police, John left Brayer PD. 

In October, 2006 John received the highest recognition from the United States Department of Treasury, receiving Honorary Special Agent, Criminal Investigation, for Outstanding Contribution and Commitment to the Goals of Criminal Investigation. 

In January, 2008 John combined his training company, (FLETS), with Larry L. Griffey and his training company Performance Investigations, partnering Federal Law Enforcement Services, (FLES).  Since the inception of FLES, John and Larry have been instrumental in assisting and or solving numerous civil/criminal investigations; training over a thousand officers/civilians; hosting over 300 hours of POST Training Courses, (Police Officer Standards & Training); providing Special Process Service; Warrant Service, Federal Firearms License and more, as well as initiating numerous community service projects. 

Currently, John is Director of Corporate Security at CB&T; CEO of FLES; and owns and operates Lazy Run Ranch, raising/training world champion bloodline horses.  John is a father of two wonderful sons and two gorgeous granddaughters.

John achieved an important level of expertise by successfully completing rigorous testing, earning the designation of Certified Fraud Examiner. The Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential denotes proven expertise in fraud prevention, detection and deterrence. John is an active member with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

John has recently achieved another important level of expertise by successfully completing rigorous testing, earning the designation of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist, (CAMS). The CAMS credential denotes proven knowledge in the detection and prevention of money laundering and is recognized worldwide, in both private and government sectors.

Larry L. Griffey

Larry

Larry L. Griffey, son of LaVerne and Freda Griffey, was rasied in Maryville, Missouri. Larry graduated from Maryville R II High School. Growing up in rural Missouri, Larry did as most average kids had done, and participated in wrestling and track.

After High School, Larry went to College in Saint Joseph, Missouri, where he obtained his degree in Criminal Justice. After College he attended and graduated Missouri Western Regional Law Enforcement Academy. 

Larry started his law enforcement career with Buchanan County Sheriffs Department, in Saint Joseph, Missouri. During his employment he served in the Corrections Division. Larry continued his law enforcement career with additional agencies serving as a Patrol Officer. Larry has held ranks of Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, and Investigator over the years. 

In 2006, Larry went to work for Braymer, Missouri Police Department where he and John A. Oaks became acquainted. John served as Chief of Police and Larry as Captain. In 2007, Braymer Police Department had the highest amount of Felony arrest in all of Caldwell County including all municipalities and the Sheriffs Office combined.

In 2008, Larry and John combined their two training companies and formed Federal Law Enforcement Services, LLC. Larry and John are very proud of what they have created and will continue to provide quality training.  

Larry and his wife Heather were married in 2003 and have two children, Brianna and Brandon. Heather assists with the Company. She is instrumental in assisting with books, copies, contacts, and more.

Larry is a avid gun collector, enjoys spending time with his family and his two Min Pins, Bella and May.

Heather

 Heather Griffey coordinates the accounting process for FLES in conjunction with Georgia. Heather also assist in photographing the companies progress, training, and assisting with many tasks.

FLES is excited that Heather has been awarded Firearms Instructor Certification.  She is the first female that FLES has awarded this Certification too.  During her course studies and practicals at the range, Heather demonstrated her knowledge and professionalism in teaching the course curriculum as mandated by the State of Missouri and proficiency in handling firearms at the range.

Heather is the mother of a son and a daughter.  She enjoys spending time with her family and assisting her husband, Larry, and also John with the company.

Georgia Chapman - FLES Executive Coordinator. Georgia is part of FLES's Executive Team.  Georgia is instrumental in quality control while monitoring the numerous services FLES has to offer its clients.  She is a military wife and mother.

Kelsey Graves - FLES Instructor - Certified First Aid, CPR & AED.  Kelsey is a volunteer for the Chula, Missouri Fire Department and First Responder.   She is a military wife and mother.

Erne Vaughn

Ernie Vaughn, Federal Firearm Licensed Dealer, and friend of Federal Law Enforcement Services, LLC, discus's firearm safety with a class at the Carry Concealed Weapons Course in Braymer, Missouri.  This course was held at PC's Elkhorn Steakhouse. 

Mr. Vaughn is extremely knowledgeable about firearms and discus's the importance of knowing your firearm and how it functions.  Mr. Vaughn also provided a demonstration on styles of concealable firearms.

Kevin S. Cline, CISA, CISM, CISSP, GSEC

Kevin joined the FLES Team while working as an Information Technology Auditor, Information Security Officer and Corporate Security for Citizens Bank and Trust from July 2001 to December 2009. Kevin maintains the web site for FLES, has designed some of the courses offered by FLES. He is currently a Security Analyst for a Company that designs Web Sites for Federal and State Governments. Kevin currently posesses the following professional credentials: Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and recently GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials Certification). He has over 26 years experience in network design and network security. He is currently working as the Vice President Information Security Officer for Heartland Bank in St. Louis, MO.
